Infinity School: An Acton Academy (“Infinity School”, “we”, “us”) is committed to safeguarding your privacy by complying with this policy.
This policy describes what type of information Infinity School collects, uses, and protects when you attend our school, visit our website, or connect with us through other means. This policy applies to information we collect, use, or disclose on our website, at our school, through related service providers or other third parties as applicable, and through other appropriate means when you come into contact with us.
Privacy laws in Canada generally define “personal information” as any information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person. Personal information does not include business contact information, including your name, title, or business contact information.
Personal information is collected through what you provide to us by: filling in forms; records of correspondence; learner work; visiting our premises; and other information customary in a school setting. Ensure that all information provided to us is accurate and up to date.
Infinity School collects only the personal information reasonably required to fulfil our educational, administrative, legal, licensing, and operational purposes, such as but not limited to:
– biographical identifiers
– lifestyle or family details
– health and medical information
– enrolment data;
– academic work, observations, and progress;
– operational and staffing information;
– pictures and videos with audio for promotional and internal communications;
– audio, video, and/or photographic recordings with a limited retention by stationary cameras for security and select educational reflection;
– staffing and volunteer documentation;
– criminal record checks.
The website and other resources we provide may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins, services, social networks, or applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow the third party to collect or share data about you. Please note that these third parties have their own privacy policies and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. You may find Acton Academy’s terms of services and privacy policies on their website (https://actonacademy.org/) and learning hub Journey Tracker (https://journey.actonacademy.org/). Our premises have third-party cameras present, without audio recording, that are controlled by St James Westminster Church for security purposes only.
We use and at times disclose personal information to reasonably fulfil our educational, administrative, legal, and operational purposes, such as but not limited to: supporting learning, safety, and well-being; communicating with parents and guardians; managing education programs; complying with legal, health, and regulatory requirements; verifying attendance; improving services; assessing program quality; supporting reflective practice; highlighting community life and learner work; carrying out our obligations and enforcing our rights arising from any contracts with you. To meet our licensing contractual agreements, Acton Academy can request live access to our stationary cameras for schoolwide inspection purposes only; when a request is made by Acton, a log is kept for auditing purposes, and that log can be requested by any member of the community.
Consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information may be expressed or implied depending on context. By enrolling at our school, visiting its premises, making contact with us, and/or enrolling with us, you agree to our collection and use of personal information as outlined in this policy. This policy may change from time to time, and your continued attendance or contact with us after we make changes indicates that you accept and consent to those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.
Individuals may withdraw or vary their consent at any time by contacting our school, subject to legal or contractual limitations and reasonable notice. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, and we are unable to accommodate your request, your choice is not to use our school or enroll your children in it.
We retain Personal Information for the longer of: i) the period necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected; ii) any retention period mandated by law, professional rules, or our insurers; iii) the duration set by our internal records-management schedule. Analytical data or derivative work product that does not contain Personal Information may be retained for longer periods to support development, quality, assurance, research, provided that it is irreversibly de-identified or aggregated.
We use a range of physical, technological, and organisation measures appropriate to the sensitivity of your personal information to ensure that it is kept secure. This includes administrative, physical, and technical controls and measures, as well as staff training.
Infinity School is in Canada and our website is offered in Canada. The website is not intended for use in any jurisdiction where its use is not permitted. If you access the website from outside Canada, you do so at your own risk and you are responsible for compliance with local laws of your jurisdiction.
You have various rights in relation to your personal information. Specifically, you have a right to obtain confirmation that we are processing your personal information and request a copy. You may request us to update and/or correct the personal information we hold about you.
